Bringing home a new puppy is one of the most exciting times in our lives! But it isn't always easy! Crate training and socialization help set puppies up for success, but sometimes we need a little bit of help to give our puppies the best start to life possible. Let us help! We offer group training, one on one sessions, and board and train options to suit your needs. Our stable mentor dogs help model and shape good behavior. We always have kids running around for socialization and distraction proofing obedience. Our facility has a lot of unique tactile items and a puppy size small challenges obstacle course for environmental socialization. Casey has more than 15 years of experience raising and training puppies and dogs. Together, we have a lot to offer any puppy and their family.
We offer Board & Train services direct from the breeder as well as from private homes to lay the foundation for crate training, socialization, and basic obedience. We do so on a limited basis so as to be able to focus on the well-being and experience of the puppies in our care. Board and train can be the 5 day work week for busy working families local to our facility or straight through 7 days a week. The minimum recommended length of board and train is 2 weeks with 3-4 weeks being the standard. Dogs who come directly from the breeder and stay for about a month, generally go home crate trained, walking politely on a leash, coming when called, offering sit as a means of saying "please", and understanding OFF as a cue to stop unwanted behavior. Like any training program, owners will need to continue the training and proofing in order to maintain results. When puppies go home from training, they're still puppies and will still need good management and guidance.
Due to the nature of our business and the time requirements involved, we are unable to accept dogs with aggression issues. Our training program is geared toward laying a proper foundation for puppies and fine tuning the obedience of otherwise friendly pets with the goal of attaining their CGC Certificates and becoming Therapy Dogs and reliable pets.
The Canine Good Citizen program is considered the gold standard of pet dog behavior and is often the baseline for Therapy Dog Programs. Developed in 1989 by the American Kennel Club, the purpose of the CGC program is to promote responsible dog ownership and to encourage the training of well-mannered dogs.
